Soon year 8 will be editing their best bits of animation to create a high quality short film. They have enjoyed the project so much that wrote Rob Smith Director of Bow arts a letter pleading to be given more time with Local artists Carl and Melissa. We are still awaiting Robs decision. Bow arts have also been training up our year 8s to become investigative journalists to on their trip to Chrisp Street market to interview local residents. Students have been documenting what life was like in the past and what it is like living here today while also imagining this area in the future. On Monday 25th November Students will get to see how their stop motion animations are going to be edited together to create a shot film which will be previewed in a special assembly for all of Year 8. This will be an important and exciting interactive addition for the general public to access and discover the areas past, present and future. 10 students from year 11 were shortlisted to win this years photography competition. Second prize went to Salma Begum from Poplar's Langdon Park School. Congratulations to all students who entered this competition, i will upload all the shortlisted entries for you to be the the judge too. The event was sponsored by a News International, and the awards ceremony was held in their beautiful offices overlooking the Thames near tower bridge. What does photography mean today? 38 photographers from all over the world offer their perspective in a new exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery. Year 10 art students will be visiting 'Out of Focus' the new exhibition all about photography, on Friday 5th October. After being inspired by the photography they experience in the gallery will then document their return journey from West to East London using digital cameras.
